Have just been experimenting with getting DR working with an older machine as a render slave and noticed that while it works fine, the slower machine is constantly playing catch up with light cache GI calculations. This means that it spends most of its time on a frame calculating the GI before managing to render just a couple of buckets before the server machine moves on to the next frame, whereupon the whole process starts again. I could be wrong but I don't recall this being an issue with previous versions of Vray -- I though the GI was calculated by the server and the date fed out to render slaves? Is it necessary to bake GI before rendering to avoid this issue?

Light cache and DR

We experimented with distributed calculations of the light cache in the past, but it was disabled at some point as it caused some issues. I hope we can get back to it at some point, but for the moment there isn't a good work-around for it besides having render servers that are similar in speed.
Best regards,
VladoI only act like I know everything, Rogers.
