  • Enviroment Overide on multiple meshes

Is it possible to assign an environment override to a set of multiple meshes? I know it's possible through the shader, but only want the override to affect certain meshes of a shader and not all of them.

There aren't include/exclude options for the environment override and material overrides should suffice, however, if you have a lot of objects, you may try rendering a second time with an object set for the specific assets and another environment. Do elaborate on your scenario.

      Thanks for your reply.
The scenario is we have a chrome material assigned to multiple objects, but due to the angles of some meshes, they look flat with the dome texture were using.
Other chrome meshes are fine and don't need adjusting, which is why we only want some of the meshes having an environmental override.

I could create a second chrome material, assign to the flat looking chrome meshes and create an override... but would be great to use just the one material. And don't want to render twice.

      Hope that helps.
      Thanks again.

I understand. Another way could be using a light, rather than environment. This way you could exclude certain objects by breaking the light links and control the shading via the specific light.

Thanks for your response, Alekdandar. Perhaps something for the wishlist. I need to keep the environment, so will use two separate chrome shaders, for now. Thanks again.
