  • Lighting setup for shader dev.

    Hi,

Just curious, what do you guys use as a neutral lighting setup when developing shaders?

I want to align the shaders in my shader library, but shader tweaking always goes hand in hand with lighting, and I would like to remove light tweaking from the equation and focus on the shader.

    Cheers!

Anything that doesn't have a strong color cast and is fairly evenly lit will do. Studio type HDRIs are a good start. And use a PBR workflow....

      Thanks for your reply.

I'm doing a wine bottle packshot as a test scene right now and since it's very lighting dependent when developing what's a good shader for glass and liquid I was looking for something more exact. I usually have some spheres with reference shaders assigned, but if there was a good standard light setup with a studio hdri in I could put a pin in the lighting and just focus on the shaders.
