  • Fog inside a light only?

Having a hard time understanding the environment fog light settings and how to get it to interact with only a specific light. Is there a way to do such a thing? I currently have only the desired light in the env fog's set, but I simply cannot decipher the docs on the env fog Light Mode. This could really use some visual examples.

Thank you for the feedback. I'll make a note to add some images to the docs. Generally, if you set the VRayEnvironmentFog mode to Override Shapes Light, add the desired light to the VRayEnvironmentFog node in Outliner, you should be able to control which light gets affected by the fog.

I seem to be able to get roughly the effect I need with the fog set to either intersect or override, however, the fog also has the effect of darkening the background significantly. So while I'm controlling the illumination of the fog, it's not clipping the fog outside of the light's area. Is there a way to achieve this?

Never mind, I found the workflow.
