  • Lens effects and denoiser tool

It appears the ability to save the lens effect file and use it in the standalone denoiser tool has gone in v5. Is this correct? It was a very good way to create glare passes with animations, especially if the glares needed to be adjusted post render. Is there another way of doing this or are you just stuck with what you have at render time?

    Cheers,
    Danny

    Hello,

Most of the needed components are still there in V-Ray 5. The Glare element is now always created - so you don't need to change anything. The vdenoise tool still supports it. The only missing thing is the ability to export the Lens Effects settings directly from the new frame buffer in a way that vdenoise can read (this is in the todo list already). A workaround for this is to export a vrscene file from Max and it will contain the Lens Effects settings.

    Best regards,

      Hi yavor.rubenov

Ah I've just seen that you can still load the lens effects settings though cmd, it's missing from the gui though (which from what I remember it used to be there?) Maybe I'm going mental though I guess I could always use the old frame buffer too to save the settings from.

Glad to hear you guys are looking at saving the settings from the new framebuffer

      Cheers,
      Danny
