  • Light cache "Fly through" mode in Vray 5.0

The Light cache mode "fly through" mode has disappeared in Vray 5 for maya, I need to render a fly through animation and I would like to avoid the 4 minutes that takes the light cache for every frame.

    How can I do it??

    thankx

The problem with fly-through mode, from what I recall, is that you'd actually have to calculate a huge amount of subdivs to get a good result.

What are your current settings for the LC?
    How complex is the scene?

I am using the presets for animation mode 3000 subdivs, Sample size 0.01, retrace threshold 8

The scene is complex, a night scene from a football stadium, grass, 55.000 particle instance seats, lights... is a fly through a VIP Box to the play field

The fly-through mode is no longer needed, that's why it went away.
In V-Ray 5 only the new hash-map based Light Cache is used (internally that's the setting at all time), which should provide a flicker-free GI in animation.
The Fly-through mode was needed for this type of case with the old light cache to avoid flickering.
