  • V-Ray render settings per object.

Hi all, quick question. I forget where is the option to control render settings per object, for example I want to exclude the waterfall from casting GI or something. I hope it could help me to reduce tremendous render times in this case.
    Thank you.

Ok I've have found it, once you assign vrayobjectproperties node to the object, you select the node in Outliner and then you can access vraySetting tab in Attibute Editor.
Would it be wise to go for local subdivs and increase the subdivs for water material ?

You can disable generate/receive GI in the VRayObjectProperties node.
You can do a similar thing for your 'water material' by just adding the object with it into a VRayObjectProperties set and adjusting the subdivs mult. I won't recommend it, though, as this would be a last-resort-sort-of-thing, ideally the image sampler settings should be more than enough.

Thanks yolov, at the end I lowered the refraction and reflection depth of water, I also lowered LC subdivs for its geometry (hoping that it helps). After all the render time almost halved.
