  • VRay FUR Level of detail start distance in scaled Maya scene.

Our Maya scenes are 10x smaller. I set up fur scale 0.1 and values such as length, thickness etc. seems to be work as expected.

I am not sure about the start distance, does fur scale 0.1 applies to it as well?

I am trying to use it as I am working on GPU and one carpet takes up to 3.5 GB of VRAM, and I have 2 more carpets in the scene to be "furred" :P

    regards,
    Karol

Whatever...I am trying different values of both start distance and rate and there is pretty much no difference + / - 40megabytes of VRAM usage.
Does this feature even work with GPU ?????

How is the 40 megabytes compared only to the detailed hair memory usage? Check the Stats panel in the VFB and look for Hair in the Memory tracking rollout.
