  • up scaling displacement 2K to 8K

Is there a sliding rule of thumb that say when you render your image with displacement say at 2K and then you need to render out at 8K, is it simply a matter of increasing the edge length x4?
The client has signed off on our sample 2K render, but I am getting a very different look when I render out at 8K.
I understand you will be seeing more details at 8K but it seems to render darker and have lost any edge highlights on the objects.

    Thanks for any help

    Generally, yes.
I presume it's normal. If you think something's going on except the enhanced detail, you may post some screencaps so we can take a look.

Here you go. I understand that the displacement will be more but it does change the colours somewhat, look at the edge of the letter A there is a highlight which gets lost on the 8K along with the surface details. The thing is, the client wants the 3K version but at 8K and I cant seem to match it.

I see. Could you simplify the scene and send it to us so we can analyze it?
