  • VRay Toon Render elements

    Hello everyone,

In my studio we are currently working on a project involving VRayToon shaders, and the compositing team would like to get the information used/generated by the toonShader inside a render Element. More specifically the Diffuse ramp, but non affected by any value or map that could have been plugged into the diffuse color.

Is it possible with some of the render elements? I tried with the Toon Lighting render element without any success.
I also tried by plugin outputs from the shader inside an extra tex render elements, with no better results.
Another possibility would be through Light Path Expressions, but I wanted to be sure there is not an easier way before going through this kind of solution.

    Thanks in advance!

I don't think there's a way of doing that in a single render, at this point, I'm afraid. LPE would not work as well. The only solution I'm seeing is rendering the VRayToonLighting separately with a white VRayToonMtl Diffuse.
Otherwise, this seems like a more logical behavior of the VRayToonLighting Element (choice whether to include the Diffuse or not). I've logged it as an improvement request (internal bug-tracker id: VMAYA-11078 ).
