I am having trouble opening the material library on a mac... Maybe Im missing a file? When I click the shelf button in maya nothing happens...
any ideas??? and where I might get the file?

Check if the Material Library window is behind the Maya application or if it is minimized.

Try the suggestions from the thread you flagged. On Mac, the default library path should be here: /Users/support/Library/Application Support/ChaosGroup/V-Ray Material Library and the manual downloader here: /Applications/Autodesk/maya2023/vray/bin/mtllib.bin.
