  • Vray 5 no updates?

The last available nightly build is from Jul 8 stable 5.2 which I'm using, it's been almost a month without any new builds, can anyone explain why this is?
    Thanks.

Hi, thanks for posting. The latest stable is from the 8th of July, build number 32168. Is there anything specific, probably a fix that you are waiting?

ID:	1188074 Yes Vladimir, I thought I should look for a newer build because I was having troubles saving a JPG image with the baked Aces profile I have set up in Maya and Vray. I wanted to see if a newer build showed any difference. The colors don't match the FB unless
I take the image into photoshop and apply the Ocio filter. When I view in a Windows photo viewer the colors are muted, maybe my settings are wrong.

Hi, please let us continue this thread in the other thread you've posted in that is regarding OCIO issues. The builds are fine from what I see, let us focus on your colour management issues.

Hi Vladimir, thank you for sending your new image and you are getting the same colors, I'm running more tests this morning but even after setting 3 new variables and restarting Maya I'm still saving images
with de saturated colors, have I missed any variables, please check my image.... Click image for larger version

Also Vladimir, I noticed that when I look inside of the folder with View Extra large icons, I can kinda see that the colors are much more vibrant and seem to match the FB...until I open in photo viewer. Click image for larger version

Hey Vladimir, I took the scene to my MSI laptop and re rendered and opened the image in photo viewer and it matched 100% , now I'm trying to see the differences with the PC, the MSI didn't have any additional environment variables set, I don't use the laptop very often.
Please look at the MSI variables and the PC added variables I posted yesterday....any clues that I can look into? Click image for larger version

Hi, I am out of ideas as well. I previously mentioned the environment variables just so that you check if you have something enabled. The default case with no active environment variables works with no issues. At this point it seems the issue is not V-Ray or Maya related. We could connect to your computer trough team viewer if you'd like to try and resolve the issue this way. Please use the ticket that you have opened to settle a meeting.

Thank you Vladimir, I'll keep digging into it, maybe it's a monitor issue, I run 2 Dell monitors ,not the newer 4k ones. If I can't find the source I'll request further assistance with a team viewer.Cheers

I can't troubleshoot this any longer due to new job starting, I did perform another test and plugged my Dell monitor to the MSI laptop, rendered a new image and it was a match so I'm ruling out that is monitor related.
The problem must be somewhere in the PC , not in Maya or Vray and I looked everywhere else I could think , Nvidia settings, windows settings , etc ..but I gotta move on now, i'll just color correct the image in Photoshop with OCIO filter.
Thanks for the assistance Vladimir, have a great week.
