Is there any benefit of using OCIO setup in VFB if I mostly only render out to png and jpg @8bit
Is OCIO best used for 32bit exr files?

I believe that other than consistency in compositing, when you have multiple sources to deal with, there are not benefits.

Although it would still be good to be in that environment, given the rendering engine internal space is linear. A conversion to sRGB or Rec 709 would have more flexibility with OCIO and the ACES environment.
