  • VRay for Maya 2025?

When can we expect to see a release?
    Cheers

Chaos should take there time and make a rock solid telease. I would prefer to wait for Maya 2025.1 cause there is a lot new stuff going on with LookDevX.

Normally we also wait until the first dot release, but the new improved MaterialX workflow seems very tempting! So it would be great if the next V-Ray release would support version 1.3 right away.

Agreed, there is no need to wait for 2025.1 which might be a few months away to start testing. Besides that is why Chaos provides nightlies

I'm reading through the release notes and there are comments on Python OSX Maya 2025 and Linux 2025 support, but no notes on windows. Have you tried on windows, and what build are you using? Normally I would just try is out, but we have a very fragile collection of plugins having embraced USD fully, VRAY and USD are often out of sync and recently had incorrect patch notes indicating support for a USD version that wasn't supported yet...

Disregard, the name of the installer has the version on it. Doh!

I assume it does take a while until Vray does update to USD v0.28
Maybe in a month we have a production ready solution.

Cause i like to work on the limit. I shifted the current production to Maya 2025.1 and the latest nightly.
No issues so far. But we dont use matx nor USD.

                  Im on win10

Thanks for the info oglu Good to know. We also want to use 2025.1 for the next project. For an in-house production we test an USD workflow, so speedy support for 0.28 would be great!

Just checked today, the latest two nightlies have support for 0.28. Untested, but it's in the notes.
