  • Only show Normal map on a decal

    I'd like to use a Megascans decal of some tire tracks and add them to a decal, however I only want the normal map visible.

    Is this possible?

    The current way of doing this is to duplicate the original material (on the object you project onto), put it in a VRayBumpMtl, and use it for the VRayDecal. Check screencap. Otherwise, we are thinking of making it more intuitive (a simple checkbox in the VRayDecal).

    EDIT: Logged an improvement request (internal bug-tracker id: VMAX-14250).

    EDIT2: Pardon, you are using Maya, but it should be the same as in 3ds Max.

      Yeah I'm a little confused. Am I applying two materials to the decal?

      Your Max screenshot looks like that (to me at least).​

      Edit: Is material 27 in that screenshot being applied to the ground plane and material 20 applied to the decal?
