  • so newer vray nightlys don't work with Maya's color management?

    What is going on?
We have full ACEScg pipeline, and Maya color management enabled, but running one of the newer nightly builds renders everything too bright. Disabling Maya's color management renders things fine. Also reverting back to slightly older vray 6.2 with maya's color management enabled also renders everything fine.

Did I miss something? The nightly release notes mentions a couple times it made some adjustments for Maya's OCIO, but this seems to have broken it completely?

build 32555 was fine. I don't know the exact build version that changed, but 32822 and higher definitely changed all the colors compared to 32555 and earlier

The issue seems to be how vray handles raw color swatch colors. Images can be assigned color space profiles and be fine, but any colors inputs would need to be readjusted?

What is the workflow to get vray to convert all the color swatches in the scene? I would think this would work seamlessly or have some color management setting to change?

To get correctly previewed color swatches, Maya Color Management should be active (otherwise, they would preview as Raw). Also, there are several settings as to how colors are previewed in the swatches menu (Rendering space, Display Space, Data). Otherwise, have you set up an OCIO display correction, when comparing the Color Swatch to the VFB? If the issue persists, do you mind sending some screencaps of the differences?
