VFB layers are not baked into beauty

Hello. Am I missing something?

When I ie. put a white balance layer adjustment on in the VFB the change will not be baked to the output image (exr). the adjustment will only show within the VFB itself.

Quoting the docs: "Layers are only saved to .exr and .vrimg files written through V-Ray's own output. The output in Render Setup > Common tab is written by 3ds Max so .exr files saved from there do not have Layers saved."

How are you saving the images?

I saw that and was confused about it since I'm not seing getting that result.

I'm renderring them to disc. Not saving from VFB. I'm in Maya btw.

Sorry. There's a checkbox named "Save Color Corrections to Raw Files (.exr and .vrimg)" in the Image Format Options (Render Settings > Common > Image File Output). Make sure it is active.

This is another example of Vray color management being rather a confusing mess.

When working in ACES the display correction layer has a "Save in Image" option, yet under the File > Save All Image Channels to Separate Files > Settings, hidden away there is also a "Save VFB color corrections to render elements".

These appear redundant settings, are they? Now you're saying there is also ANOTHER setting within image format options that needs to be turned on?
