How do I remove the standard maya render frame buffer when I'm using vray's? Also I cant get vray mtl's to show textures in the viewport. Other shaders like lambert dont seem to have this problem.

i dont think its possible to remove mayas native frame buffer.
For the textures...its working for me fine, make sure you turn on hardware shading in shader.

hmmm....funny, setting the hardware shading to color, still didn't show the checker texture I threw on a sphere. Interestingly, setting it to off on a maya blinn shader, and the texture didn't go away.

odd i didn't have to do anything, just created a clean scene applied vray material to the sphere and connected a checker to it and turned off shading with textures in maya and it worked.

okay I got textures showing. but ONLY if I turn OFF high quality rendering in the viewport. Toggle it back on and the textures on vraymtls go away.

oh i see. Well high quality rendering isn't really that important. Its just an attempt at showing off hardware rendering.
