  • Vray for maya documentation

    Hey all,

I have just downloaded the VRay for maya demo and I can't seem to find any documentation for it anywhere :P

the Vray options in the attribute editor for cameras don't seem to appear in the attribute editor. Is this disabled for the demo ? Other Vray options such as shader types/lights and rendering options appear so I at least know the plugin is loading. Any help is mucho appreciated

The help is here : http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/

And for the camera settings, select your camera, and in attribute editor go to the menu bar on the top, selecting Attributes > VRay > Physical Camera / Camera Settings.

The create menu should have VRay items in it, and a VRay subgroup.

You can also take a look at the specific V-Ray for Maya help. It has only a few tutorials so far but all the basic stuff specific to V-Ray for Maya is explained there. For example, where the extra attributes are. If they are not there, that's probably a bug, I don't think they are disabled in the demo. We had some issues with these when using other renderers that add similar attributes (i.e. Renderman). Here is the link to the V-Ray for Maya help :

If you find something is missing or confusing, write about it here, and we'll try to correct it.

Thanks. I found the vray options. I didn't know you had to activate them first in the attribute menu in the attribute editor :P
