Yes, the environment override has been added to the "material override" extra attributes. It is used for all rays, not just reflection rays, I think it is the same thing in 3ds Max.
You'll need a build after 16th February 2010, as this is when it was added.

I see, I will have to request a new build...
On that subject I want to request following: under create/vray/ its possible to add single object properties node to selection etc, it would be great if this sort of thing worked for multiple shading groups. For example if I wanted to add multiple vray overrides to selected shading groups.

Ok, I'll write this down. Maybe it won't be too hard to implement. What happens if you have an object properties node attached to a mesh object and to its shading group as well ? Which one should V-Ray use? I guess the mesh one since that's more specific. The shading group one may be used by multiple meshes in the scene.

i think the for the single node for multiple shading groups a separate node would control all of them, this way it would be easy to isolate it and connect extra nodes to it.

Yes, you'll be able to add more shading groups using the Relationship editor. Just like you can do this now (you can add instances to the VRayObjectProperties using the Relationship editor). But I was asking something else, what VRayObjectProperties node should V-Ray use for a particular MDagPath that has VRayObjectProperties connected to both its shading group and to a transform/shape on the MDagPath ?
