  • Vray Material ID

    Hey...
I've seen a lot about this Material ID which I think is a great tool for post processing. Now my question is how I set this up in my materials so they will appear all in seperate colors in the rendering?

Thanks a lot and have a great week,
    Michael

I think it's a pass in the Render Elements, just turn it on and you're good to go

The material ID is specified as an extra attribute of the shading group of the material. You can read more about this here :
      http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/maya...xtr_attrib.htm

In older builds it was called "color id", it is now called "materia id". In any case it is the color attribute that you add.

Any shading GRP, of a material, in maya, has the 'material ID " number ,which you can add from the "vray attributes"

        Put a number in there,
        or color map.

        Add Material ID in renderelements,

        Tada
