  • Can we desaturate the Vray sun? Mainly for moon surface lighting.

    I was using the vray sun to light a moon landscape. I am always getting the warm yellow hues that are natural to Sunlight. Normally this is desired with Vray sun but I wanted to light the moon surface and the yellow is too warm. I want to be able to use the vray sun as usual with the exception of the color saturation.

    Is there a way to desaturate the sun color so one can make the white color needed for a moon surface?

    Is it possible to use a Vray camera and adjust the white balance instead?

      Assuming I'm understanding the question, you should be able to put your file texture through --

      file -> rgb2hsv -> multiplyDivide -> hsv2rgb

      And in the "multiplyDivide" you can multiply the second channel (saturation) to decrease the saturation, and use the output of hsv2rgb as your V-Ray sun texture.
