There is some work in progress related to this, but nothing that can be used yet, unfortunately.

      That is great news!

If you have anything available for early testing later on, don't hesitate to let us know as we would gladly provide feedback and, if possible, start using such a feature right away.
      Best Regards,
      Fredrik

I can't hold back - I need to ask, are you guys coming up with something to preview an ongoing render?
        Best Regards,
        Fredrik

Yes, working on it. Btw, do you need it for both V-Ray for Maya and V-Ray Standalone, or just the Standalone?

          Best regards,
          Vlado

            That's fantastic!

In short - it would be great if it worked with V-Ray for Maya (mayabatch).
The way we render everything today, it all goes through V-Ray for Maya. But if the progressive preview would only launch when using the standalone renderer we will have to look into changing our pipeline to support this.
            Best Regards,
            Fredrik

Yes, the work is in progress.
A new tool is in development, that can preview an ongoing V-Ray rendering.

Will it be possible to invoke this new tool at the same time as the rendering begins - and keep it visible until rendering is complete?

We are used to having the old VFB enabled, so that when batch rendering in Windows, the VFB will appear automatically, showing the progress of the render. We have monitors visible on each machine that renders so that we can quickly spot something that looks wrong. We would ideally like to be able to invoke this new tool automatically when starting a render.

                  Fredrik

                      Hi,
A little request : i hope we will have the possibility to have python command to control this new VFB, like load image, save image, control gamma, exposure....

I'm guessing we won't see this feature make it into V-Ray for Maya 3.0?
