  • AMD Six-Core Opteron 8431 vs. Intel i7

    Hi,

has anybody rendered with vray in a mixed machine setup of AMDs Opteron 8431 and intel i7 or Xeons?

I can remember quite some time ago a AMD processor produced other renderings then the intel P4. One of the processors rendered lighter pictures.

Is this still a issue or is it nowadays no problem to render with a mixed setup?

    Thanks a lot

    Rico

There should be no difference when rendering with AMD and Intel processors.
You can set the "number of passes" parameter of the Light Cache to 6(for example) which should even the noise for all buckets.
