  • Rt single kernel and multi kernel

When I saw the siggraph 2010 videos, I remember to have seen this two options besides Cpu Rendering.

For curiosity, the multi kernel option is for mix ati and nvidia cards through opencl?

The multi-kernel engine is actually only used if you want to program GPU shaders (procedural textures and stuff). It will probably not make into this beta, as it is somewhat slower and we have problems with the latest drivers, but the single kernel version will be there soon.

Neither the single kernel, nor the multi-kernel version currently work on ATI cards because of issues with their OpenCL implementation; hopefully this will be corrected soon.

No, the GPU engine is currently not included; V-Ray will attempt to load it, but will not find it and will fall back to CPU rendering.

so this means, that the option does nothing at the moment? Too bad....but i already thought that this would be too good to be true Any plans on when we will see this dream come true?

It is coming; we want to get the rest of the integration working first, without the GPU getting in the way.

            Best regards,
