  • Animated proxy (with offset) VS 1 proxy by frame, memory.

    Hi,
    I have a question.
I saw when you have 1 animated proxy, you must to duplicate your proxy (not in instance) to set many "animation offsets" in the same frame.
When you do this, Vray will load many time the animated proxy in memory.
The size on the animated proxy on 10 frames is 1 giga.
So Vray will search on 1 giga where is the "good" frame (??).

If i create 1 proxy by frame, the size of the proxy is 100 mo (for 1 frame).

Is there an advantage to use one proxy by frame ? (Vray will read just 100 mo (???))

The .vrmesh files are indexed; V-Ray can find out exactly where each frame is without wading through the whole file and will load just the part that it needs. So from that point of view, there is no difference between single and multiple files.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
