  • Vray loading the same textures multiple times

    When we have many referenced objects in maya from many different files and if 2 or more referenced objects from different files call the same texture more than once vray also loads it the amount of times its been called in the maya file . I wanted to know if this impacts the memory usage and vrscene loading times when using vray standalone

    If you look at the .vrscene file, are there multiple BitmapBuffer plugins with the same file name? If yes, then the textures are duplicated, along with memory usage - it's something that we need to look into.

      Yep . there are quite a few BitmapBuffer plugins with the same file name . Would be really good if its to be fixed in the next release . Might save a lot of memory and also be more efficient while implementing a library of models which share some common textures .
