  • How to render TWO cams/images from ONE vrscene?

    Hey friends,

is it possible to export ONE vrscene out of maya which i can render with standalone using TWO cameras and writing TWO images for stereo produciton?

Best would be if you could consider a SXR (stereo exr) implementation, but for now i would be happy to render TWO images out of ONE vrscene.

    greets

This is supposed to be fixed in mid-Dec or so, i.e. you should be able to use the "-cam" flag as expected.
Not sure what build you are using, try one from late Dec and let me know if it works as expected.
      Thanks!

Do you mean the "-cam" flag of the Render command? I was looking for a way to export to .vrscene for standalone rendering...

Yeah, this is what I meant, sorry. It has been an issue for some time, so I guess I was too focused on it while reading your post.
Will check if/how that can be done with standalone.

One way to do it is to export one .vrscene with the "Separate files" option; then you can export the cameras to two other .vrscene files and replace the Render View definitions before rendering.

By replace you mean i should do this by hand?

Well, if you want to But there are many text-processing tools that can do this automatically.
