Maya 2011 SP1 - any issues with vRAY ?

Hi guys,

I am considdering upgrading our installs to Maya 2011 SP1, anyone who has done that yet? are there any problems with vray involved with upgrading ?

Do you mean the Subscription advantage pack? If so, yes there are some issues. The problem is that all the folder in this version are in 2011.5, which breaks all you connection to plug-ins, including Vray. There are ways to fix this, have a look there: http://forums.cgsociety.org/showthre...2&page=2&pp=15 , but it seems more like a hack that a proper solution.
I personally will wait for a fix or 2012.

Edit: yes SP1 work fine. Sorry I was confused between SP1 and SAP.

No problems here so far with SP1, and no problems with SAP if you merge it into SP1 like this http://www.djx.com.au/blog/2010/10/0...n-maya-2011-5/

LOL I havn't even noticed that there was a SAP .. Do you know the difference between SAP and SP1?

In SAP, you get a couple extra mocap, Substance materials and craft animation plugin (the demo version).

ahh so nothing to get all worked up for for me.. Not worth the hassle of vray not working and doing manual fixes..
