  • multiple renderslave instances listening on different ports

    Hey Dev-Team,

do you think it would be possible to run multiple renderslaves on one machine which listen on seperate ports...e.g. one renderslave using a production approved version listening on the default port 20207 and one additional server running the latest nightly listening on port 20208.

    would be so cool!
    cheers
    Oli

Yes, it it is possible if you render through the standalone version of V-Ray. In that case make sure you use the same port number (through the -portnumber=NNNN command line option) on both the client and the render servers.

unfortunately i cannot start multiple "vray -server" instances e.g.:
        "vray.exe -server -portNumber=20207"
        and
        "vray.exe -server -portNumber=20208"
        i get this:
error: There is another server already running.

Hm yes, there is a check for another instance. Perhaps we should add a command-line flag that skips it...
