  • Color mapping specific objects

Is it possible to apply different color mapping to different objects or materials?

This might sound stupid an unnecessary, but I really think it is important, specially when I use projections and color mapping. Everything gets messed up.

Interesting. Not that I know of. What color mapping are you using? I would suggest not doing any real color mapping in-camera, and instead use Linear Multiply. Then do color mapping in post.

        Thank you Andrew.

I almost all the time use exponential color mapping. It is the only way I've found to get soft gradients. Perhaps I'm doing it all wrong. But when I found the exponential color mapping it was a huge difference it made to me to mental ray.

It is not possible right now, since by the time color mapping is done, V-Ray does not know which object generated the sample. But it might be possible to selectively turn the color mapping on and off on a per-object basis - something that we have to look into.

            Thanks, man.

We've been needing that a lot.
