  • Replace physical sky reflections

Is there a way to get all the lighting and GI benefits of the physical sky but replace the reflections of the physical sky with an hdri?

ohh . i was putting the hdri into the reflections override but then assuming the sky would continue to work the GI on its own. I guess I have to plug that into the override as well. Thanks for the help!

So It seems when you first enable the sun/sky, the "overrides" are automatically turned on with the sky piped into each. I broke the connection to the reflections and piped in a file node with an HDRI. For whatever reason this is not working. Its as if all I did was break the connection to the sky.

Is there something else I should try?

          Thanks for your help

This should work, i think. Maybe just try to lift the intensity of the HDRI a bit? Or upload the scene and someone will take a look.

Yep, it will work this way, but your intensity must be high enough to actually see it.

Inrease the color gain of your hdri file node to somewhat above 1.0
