  • How to use VRayToon?

Can't get the trick: How can we us the VRayToon Shader? We using the latest build and can create the shader via Create -> V-Ray -> VRayToon, but it doesn't appear anywhere in the Outliner or HS?

    Thanks
    Lars

      Hi,
To create VRayToon effect you must to:
      1. Add a VRayToon shader from the Create->V-Ray->VRayToon menu. Now you can see VRayToon node in Outliner if you uncheck "Display->DAG Objects Only".
      2. Create a Set and add the objects you want to be tooned at it.
      3. Connect the Set to "excludeList" plug of VRayToon node.

        Thanks Ivan.

But there is no "excludeList" plug of VRayToon node?! At least not visible in the AE. In the Connection Editor I can see a "excludeList", but don't know how I can connect the set to it....?

Ah, you need to connect the memberWireframeColor to the excludeList.

          Great! Thanks Ivan!

Great tool, thanks Chaosgroup. Exactly what we need for an upcoming job.

Would be great if we could save outline renderings in a vector format for large printings or flash use.

You can also just turn off the "Inclusive set" option without connecting any set to the VRayToon node - in that case, the toon effect will be applied on all objects in the scene.

              Best regards,
              Vlado
