I tried the universal settings, but it was going to take 6+ hours. For a 720p frame!

This is the simplest shot in the entire film.... I'm starting to have grave concerns about being able to render my shots with 13 characters.

Can you please post a SS of your Anti-aliasing settings?

Support got back to me on the slowness... was caused by a singleShadingSwitch. I took out the switch and just created 3 shaders with linked attrs, 4x faster. I'm still working on the flickering.

These are the settings I think I was using for the 4.5hr frames. Still seems a bit long for 720p at /4 at 1 hour.

I believe you want your adaptive amount to be 1 (fully adaptive) if your your using the "universal" method. Otherwise it won't fully resolve.

Adaptive DMC at 2,10 0.01 is pretty grainy because your clr threshold is too high

change it to 2,8 0.004 and check results.

If anyone is interested, the issue that was causing the flicker was the intensity of the sun/sky. Changed it down to .03 and it resolved. Was using color mapping to bring within range previously.

Good call. I was just about to suggest your lighting. I recently did a turn around of a girl using SSS and it seemed to render fine with no flickering.
