  • Mapping image to VrayMtl environment

I'm trying to map an image to the environment of a vray material and found this in a post:
Same what I said - override the environment for that material with a map that has the VRayPlaceEnvTex placement. If you don't need it to actually reflect anything else other than the environment, in recent builds there is a "dim distance" parameter which you can use to limit the reflections.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
But I couldn't figure out how to make this work, does anybody have an example to share?! Or a quick explanation?

    Thanks a lot!

Ok, so, I've been trying for the past hour without success, it just won't render the reflection map!

I've upped my test scene here, if anyone cares to give it a shot.

Thanks a lotClick image for larger version

      Check the attached scene.

You'll have to go to the shading group of the material and add the 'Vray material override' attributes. Then you can connect a file texture to the env. override slot. Also you'll have to connect VRayPlaceEnvTex.outUV to the uvCoord of the file texture using the hypergraph.

(The texture is not included in the ZIP.)
