  • Vray 2.0 Beta

    Wow. That is an impressive list of new features. Fantastic stuff. Glad the img2tiledExr tool got made. Many thanks for that little addition!

    Lots to discuss. Can't wait to try it out. Will download later today!

    How does Vray 2.0 beta differ from Nightly builds?

      Currently, not much. However the nightly builds for V-Ray 1.5 only go this far; anything new except bug fixes will only happen in the 2.0 builds. There are several new things planned for the 2.0 builds before the release as well.

      Best regards,
      Vlado

        Ok. So Nightly builds will not add new features but only bug fixes? That's a great plan.

          Will there be a possibilty of a 2012 version for all platforms or is this for V-Ray 2.0? Just asking because I believe 2012 is out next week.

          Cheers.

              Hi

              I've just upgraded my dongle to run the 2.0 beta. Will I have to downgrade to the original license when the beta period is over?

              Cheers

                No, there is no need to do anything. The original license is still there, just the beta license will expire.

                  @Scott

                  I've been slammed the last 2 months, so I haven't checked out the nightlies lately. Nice to see the feature list in a complete form though.

                    Can someone point me to how to upgrade my dongle to be able to use 2.0 beta?

                      If you log in to the download section on our site and go to the V-Ray for Maya downloads, follow the link "Upload WBC file!" to get your trial license for the beta (it should be towards the top of the page).

                        I uploaded my WBC file and got an *.rtu file to download...what do I do with that? When I launch Maya and try and render with the 2.0 beta, I get a -98 license not found error.

                          Just double-click the file to write the new contents to the dongle. If you have problems with this, please email us to vraymaya@chaosgroup.com
