  • set object ID in attribute editor?

Is it possible to set the object ID in the attribute editor? I glanced through it, but did not see it listed. I would like to apply object ID to a massive amount of geometry all at once.

Also is it possible to combine object IDs? Say for example in one multimat I want to have R=id1, G=id2, B=id3, and in a second multimat I want to have R=id1+id2, G=id4, B=id5.

If you select your transform node or your shape node, go to Attributes > V-Ray > Object ID. Then you can assign an object ID to a specific mesh.

The other option is to select all the meshes to which you want to assign the same ID, and go to Create > V-Ray > Apply single object properties to selection. Then you can specify the object ID for all objects connected to that VRayObjectProperties node.

Unfortunately it is not possible to combine the IDs in such a way; you will have to use two multimattes and add their result afterwards.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

        Hi,

I wrote a simple script for this purpose, although the vrayobjectproperties is a good solution.
my script can give you a quick overview of assigned id's, try it!
