  • real world camera settings?

I don't know much about cameras...is there a chart out there with real world settings for today's high end cameras that I can use on the Vray physical camera?

Best thing to do would be to purchase a Digital SLR from either Nikon or Cannon with a prime lens and explore! It definitely will help your understanding of exposure, dof, shutter timing and more.

You can often see camera data on sites like flickr too beside photos - there's no real chart as such since light changes so much from place to place. The only rule I know of is the "sunny 16" rule which means on a clear sunny day if you're shooting outdoors, if you set your shutter to the same value as your iso, you'll be roughly correct. So if you set your camera aperture to f16, and if your cameras film or iso was set to 200, you'd use a shutter speed of 1/200. If your iso was 100, you'd use 1/100th of a second.

        Do whatever looks right.

As Metzger, using a DSLR immensely improves understanding in this area - also invaluable to learning how to frame shots.
