  • VRay RT OpenCL mode

Is there some documentation on how to use OpenCL in the RT setting? I can't seem to get it to work. Making a simple scene (object with light), nothing renders when pressing the IPR button.

    Thanks

The first time you run it, you may have to wait a while for the OpenCL code to get compiled for your graphics cards. This time may be anywhere from one to five minutes or more depending on the number of GPUs that you have.

Check the V-Ray RT render server window to see what's going on. Also, if you are running the RT render server as a Windows service, this may prevent it from accessing the GPU - if this is the case, try running it manually.

I have 2 cards (1 fast, 1 slow) in my workstation. Where can I set on which card V-Ray RT should run?

      thanks,

You can do that through the VRAY_OPENCL_DEVICES environment variable; some more details are available here: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/maya...ars.htm#opencl
