  • Using Images for lightinig

    Hello,

I have an environment (room)I'm working on and I have run into an issue. I have grfx design that I would like to put outside my environment and use as an image to project light into the room. Is there a way to achieve this? In mental ray I have used the image as a light source and have had good results. Does anybody have a work flow? I have been trying to experiment with IBL but it isn't doing exactly what I need...

The image is very contrasty and rich and contains many colors. This will fill my area nicely if i can get it to work..

    Any thoughts?

I have also been trying to use the image in the override tab for GI texture but still no success...

I have also mapped the image to a dome light, dome tex and I see the color outside the environment but I really need it to spill into the scene and bathe the interior?

I apologize for such a basic question/process but I'm trying to learn VRAY as I go and I'm experimenting during a project which is never a great idea so any help is greatly appreciated.

It would be best if you can post some images... normally you would just put a spherical HDR image into the texture slot of a dome light.
