  • Maya preferences causing rendering issue

    Hi

I discovered a new render issue for me at least. I have a scene set up with Z up world preferences and this has been render out as expected. I then worked on a scene yesturday with Y up, finished my day and set some more batch render scripts running for the Z up scene.

This morning i have discovered that all the shots are useless as the sun's position has changed, i can only assume that maya's last saved preferences were saved out with Y up.

I had assumed that a scenes set up was all held in the file - stupidly i now realise.

Is there a way to set the scene preferences with the file somehow or a flag i can add in a script at render time to stop this happening again?

Would the same issue happen if i was using Vray Standalone?

    any thoughts?

    cheers

When you export a .vrscene, the up axis is stored in the .vrscene file, so from then on it does not matter what the preferences are. The scene will render with the setting at the time it was exported.
