When using RT GPU are we likely to encounter any substantial loss of performance when using any
sort of PCI extender chassi, i.e. multiple GPUs will share a single
16x PCIe link.

Something like Cubix GPU-Xpander Desktop for example.

I couldn't tell you since I have not tried it, but some users of the 3ds Max version said it was ok. It would be best if you can test it before you buy it.
