  • Only save .png from frame buffer window?

Any ideas why .png is the only file type listed when I save out an image from the V-Ray frame buffer window?

I've got it set to EXR in the globals, and have confirmed that float values are in the render.

I think were only able to save the pngs from the render window, which is your color adjusted image. The actual exr is in your project under the /tmp folder which will have all your render layers and be linear.

Which V-Ray build are you using? There was such problem several months ago but it was fixed. You should try downloading some of the latest nightly builds.

Thanks to you both for the replies. Robert, that's what I've ended up doing. I can save files as any format if I put the correct extension in the name, but with exr's it saves them as individual files if I do that, so I just copy them from the tmp dir. Vasil, I'm using V-Ray for Maya version 2.00.04 EDU from Apr 28 2011, 03:33:17, and I don't think I have access to nightly builds. I wish I did!
