      take a look at GPU cuda cores and their speed.

      I'd say I go for 2 gb version as the 1.25 is quite small - u know windows and 3ds max itself need to fit in it too b4 u can fin 3ds max scene for renderings...

        I have geforce 480, and I have some viewport issues in maya and max. In maya, the switching between viewports is delayed. But it could be a maya 11 issue. Also in maya 11 the hypershade is notably slower again could be a maya 11 issue. I find in general geforce is much worse with manipulating vertexes and components in general. For example if you have a large vertex/uv selection geforce seems to handle it a lot worse then quadro. However quadro has issues of its own, overlays are one of them. Usually having a photoshop behind maya (hypershade) tends to have windows flick back and forth a lot.
