  • export to .vrscene file -> tiny step size

    Hi,

I'm exporting a scene to a .vrscene file in animation mode.
Now suddenly the step size while exporting went from the common 1 step by frame to something like 229.70 229.77 229.88 229.93 in frame step size.
This is horrible to me because this shot is about 400 frames long.

    Please anybody help.

    cheers

seems you have turned on motion blur or the velocity renderelement...or both...and since it takes a long time to update i suppose u are using shapeDeformation...
If your animation is final i encourage you to export all shapes to an animated proxy...if thats not possible you are screwed

    cheers

I got a active velocity render element ... but all animations are just simple transforms ... no deformations ... motion blur is off.
When I turn the render element off it works the way I'm used to it ... 1 frame step by step.

Thanks for pointing me into the right direction ... but what else to deformations could this be ?

      cheers

Hm, the velocity should not require that many steps... if you like, you can send us the scene (or just some small part to it that reproduces the problem) to vraymaya@chaosgroup.com and our support guys will take a look at it.

        Best regards,

While reducing the scene in deleting models I found that the evildoer was a model which came via .fbx from 3dsmax ...

I couldn't find any strange nodes in the hypergraph ... also deleting history and freeze transforms didn't help.

Exporting it in .obj and importing it back into the scene the step size went back to 1 step per frame.

          Problem solved.

          Thank you guys !

Glad that it's solved, but I would still like to take a look at the problematic scene if possible - it would allow us to perhaps fix the issue so you don't have to reimport the geometry.

            Best regards,
