  • 2.20.01 Snow Leopard installer hangs on Mac OS X 10.6.8

I'm trying to install to a server location, but the installer simply freezes up after accepting the uninstall process (I already had it installed locally). It doesn't seem like it starts uninstalling anything.

Any way I can start the OSX installer the old way, via command line?
    Best Regards,
    Fredrik

    Hm, weird.

I found the executable inside the .app and I launched it using sudo.

The GUI launched anyway, but this time the install to server path worked.

However, the installer was unable to uninstall my local copy of V-Ray. I got a GUI message window telling me it failed uninstalling and asked me if I wanted to go ahead with the install anyway.

Then after having unticked the box about showing the release notes and clicked "next", it went and installed it again (and performed backup, overwrite, backup, overwrite and so on...).

This is the terminal output (I didn't cancel anything, even if it says so on the last line):

    Code:
    sudo /Users/fredrik/Desktop/V-Ray\ installers\ 2.20.01/vray_adv_22001_maya2012_snow_leopard_x64/vray_adv_22001_maya2012_snow_leopard_x64.app/Contents/MacOS/vray_adv_22001_maya2012_snow_leopard_x64

Cannot go to the directory, containing uninstaller. This might
Happen if you deleted it or have moved the product. Please, run
The uninstaller manually with the following arguments:

    ./linuxinstaller.exe -uninstallApp="V-Ray for Maya 2012 for x64" -log=install.log

I believe it all got installed in the end. I'll report back on that...

It will eventually continue, as you have found out. This was reported in one instance during the beta, but we could not quite figure out what went wrong unfortunately.

      Best regards,
