  • Mesh Light

I have a polyplane as a mesh light & its rigged up so it can be deformed for our needs & it works fine. But I want to add ramps to the edges to control the opacity, so that if a get a bit of crossover on my lights I can dial in this opacity to blend together.

I seem to be having the problem that I want the light intensity attribute to control the light intensity but I need a texture slot to control opacity . The only way I can get this is the texture tab , but this is just a texture overriding the light intensity.

And any shader i put on the mesh light is overridden by the mesh light.

Is there any way to achieve this?

    Thanks

    Chris

You can attach the alpha output of your opacity map to the Alpha Gain parameter of the light color texture. This will only change the transparency though; it will not automatically multiply the intensity by the opacity.
