  • How to do Tiny Flakes

    Hi,

I doing a car and need a very tiny flakes, like a real car.

With another render software I reach it, but with V-ray I canĀ“t do it yet.

I trying with (VRay Flakes Mtl and VRay Car Paint Mtl), But at this moment I set the flakes parameters to small that the shader allow me I thing.

With V-Ray I can do very tiny flakes like this image?

If yes how can I do it?

Because I need this size of flakes or smaller than it.

You're going to find it tough since vray might see that as noise - if it's for moving footage it's going to be a problem, for stills just turn your quality down and use a tiny noise map!

set flakes eeee size if I'm not wrong to something like 0.0001(I'm using 3ds max btw). And then fixed or adaptive DMC set to like 6/10 min/max/ treshold to like 0.0001 and Enjoyyyyyyyyyyy. Will take quite long time, and u need multiple flake max to reproduce proper car flakes.

You can also try to disable texture filtering; see some examples here: http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/200R...intmtl.htm#ex2
