  • Question to GI settings

    Hi,

I am rendering a szene for a friend.

    The GI settings are:
    Primary engine : Brute force
Secondary : Light cache with save option "on"

After rendering the prepasses I set Lightcache to "from file"

But everytime when I render a part of the (very big) image, Vray renders again a new prepass.
Very slow, with only one host - without DR.

Is the reason, that Brute force dont saved into the cached file and must be rerendered everytime?

Is there a way to save brute force to a cache file?

    Thanks,
    Jörg

There will be a prepass if you use vrayfastsss2 or interpolated glossy reflections/refractions. For newer versions we are working on object-space distribution of the samples for sss2, so that part will go away.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

      Vlado,
there where some shaders with reflection and refraction interpolation.
      What a great idea.
      Now the renderings start immediately!
Its no fun to use interpolation in a 11K rendering.

      Thanks so much.
