  • Vray sun/sky export?

So I have a vray sun/sky setup that I really like. I'd like to be able to save it as an HDR so that I can bring it into mudbox as I'm sculpting/texturing and see my model under the same lighting. I don't suppose there is anyway to output/export your vray sun/sky setup?

    Thanks!

you can create a panoramic HDR map using a vray camera attribute (dome camera).

I'm not quite certain what you mean. I see the vray camera attribute, I can turn it on, but when then? Do you set the vray camera FOV to 360 degrees, hide your model and then render it out as an HDR image?

I don't know maya, but the process in max is thus:

Set render width to 2x the height
In the (Vray) Camera tab in the render settings set it to "Spherical", and set the fov to 360
Make sure clamping is off in your color settings

press render and save as hdr.
